Does anyone know how to find the value of x in this? I've done one question like it before but I'm confused.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think because of the shape is a triangle and your trying to find x it would be 78 because a triangle is an equal shape which all sides are equal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

78 isnt one of my options :/ Right now im using the triangle sum propert which means all angles added together equal 180 degrees, thank you though :3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

property*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh so your trying to get the triangle to equal to 180?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but there are two triangles here, so in order to find the value im looking for i have to find the value of the other angle in the other triangle first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sooo 84 + 70 = 154 so 180 - 154 = 26.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the first angle on the first triangle is 26

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well both ends of the triangle equal 78 then 78+78=156 then 180-156=24 that's the top of the triangle and then add up 78 78 and 24 a you get 180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the triangle is called a scalene triangle btw that is why both ends are equal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're actually right.. 78 is the answer. I wonder why it's not one of my answers.. My answers are 32, 48, 70, & 76. But if it were to be 76 that would only be 178 and not 180.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah you have to ask your teacher about that Lol.Thats just the way I learned it in geometry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay lol xD thanks :)

no problema(:
