Solving sin 3x - cos 2x = 0 by the equation (1) sin 3x = cos 2x = sin (pi/2 - 2x) and sin 3x = sin (Pi - Pi/2 + x) a) 3x = Pi/2 - 2x -> 5x = Pi/2 -> x = Pi/10 b) sin 3x = sin (Pi - Pi/2 + 2x) -> 3x = Pi/2 + 2x -> x = Pi/2 You may check the answers of the equation (1) by replacing x by its 2 values.
