Explain

1. What is true of a random sample? It is the only way to sample a population. Each member of the sample is a volunteer. It is always the easiest way to sample a population. Each member of the population has an equal chance of being selected. 2. Jon is working on a city councilperson’s election campaign. He wants to survey potential voters about their opinions. Which is the best way for him to gather a sample? Attend a speech given by the councilman and survey audience members. Select every 10th person on a list of registered voters and call them to complete the survey. Go to a gym during the day and survey people as they exercise. Hand out flyers at the supermarket asking people to call and complete a survey. 3. True or false: A fair question makes assumptions about the population. true false 4. Which question is biased? Do you prefer history class or geography class? Don't you think Latin class is a waste of time? Do you think the math test was easy or difficult? Did you study last night?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Have you actually looked up these terms? What is a "random sample," and what sets a random sample apart from other samples?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no but let me look them up

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Thanks for your willingness to do that. That's always a very smart first step towards understanding problems involving technical vocabulary.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a simple random sample is a subset of individuals (a sample) chosen from a larger set (a population). Each individual is chosen randomly and entirely by chance, such that each individual has the same probability of being chosen at any stage during the sampling process, and each subset of k individuals has the same probability of being chosen for the sample as any other subset of k individuals.[1] This process and technique is known as simple random sampling, and should not be confused with systematic random sampling. A simple random sample is an unbiased surveying technique.

this is what i got for simpel randon sampels

@damara1213: That's a great definition. Please re-read that definition, then the four answer choices, and determine for yourself which of the answer choices seems to fit the definition best.

OpenStudy (hotpinkgirl):

1. = 4 2. = 2 3. = 2 4. = 2

OpenStudy (hotpinkgirl):

i got 100%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol im taking this rn and thanks for that :D @HotPinkGirl
