The table represents data collected on the time spent studying (in minutes) and the resulting test grade. Time Spent Studying (min) 52 37 31 9 26 40 22 10 45 34 19 60 Grade on Test 95 84 72 58 77 86 72 43 90 81 62 98 Part 1: Create a scatter plot with the predicted line of best fit drawn on it. Determine the type of correlation (if any) and predict the model that will be used.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, what dont you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im not sure how to make a scatter plot

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well just plot the points on a graph and draw a line where you think is the best fit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so wold it be like (52,95), (37,84)....?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is what a scatter plot looks like

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah you would plot the points as you would normally plot them on a graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok give me a second

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont know if you can see this but if you can is this right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah thats exactly what a scatter plot is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i would move the line to where it hits the most points on the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this better?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that would be more accurate

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok and what does it mean by the type of correlation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@BrandonH4499

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.regentsprep.org/regents/math/algebra/ad4/scatter.htm this should help you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be high correlation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! that is right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks :D
