In The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Hyde, the crimes that Jekyll did was sort of to show the crimes in the Victorian era. The Victorian era appeared to be a posh lifestyle but Jekyll's character showed that there were other sides of it as well. Jekyll would kill many people horrifically. Hyde was the other part of it, the posh upper class people who were well respected.
