What role did Henry the Navigator play in finding new routes to the East? He personally led many expeditions around Africa. He forced many Portuguese sailors to go where they weren't comfortable. He encouraged the development of new technologies for exploration. He sponsored many missionary activities in North Africa.
I think it's A, but I'm not 100% sure.
I think its D personally
enry sponsored voyages down the coast of Africa. These voyages went as far as Guinea and were primarily expeditions of exploration; later on they brought back to the nearby town of Lagos, from whence they set out, numerous African slaves and goods.
okay, well i will go with D then, and I'll let you know
thanks!
np
D was wrong
The answer is C. He himself did not do much exploration personally. His accomplishments were encouraging and sponsoring others to do so, and in the development of technologies and techniques to further exploration. It is thanks to him that Columbus had the ability to sail to the Americas and that in 1498 Vasco de Gama was able to sail around the Cape of Good Hope, the southern tip of Africa, and be the first European to reach India by sea.
thank you
damn sorry for the wrong answer
ha, it's okay
