How to find the equation of a line given slope and an ordered pair

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope is m....ordered pair is (x1, y1) The equation of your line will be: y - y1 = m(x - x1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So m is slope and you subtract the ys and use distributive with the xs with m?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the slope is 3 and the ordered pair is (2,5) The equation of the line is y - 5 = 3(x - 2) Finished..You don't have to distribute unless the problem says you have to write the equation of the line in a particular form.
