a family of straight lines has equation y = 3x + c. When the graphs of those lines are drawn for different values of c, what geometric property is observed.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Have you actually tried drawing y=3x+c with several different c values? Bet a graph like that could tell you plenty!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am unsure how to draw it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you sketch the line if you know c equals 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Done it. it looks like they are parallel as they have the same gradient.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

In that case, the slope of your line would be 3 and the y-intercept 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = mx + c m is the slope of the line (how steep it is) c is the y-intercept (where the line crosses the y-axis
