Select the FIVE factors that contributed to increasing United States involvement in world affairs. the Japanese-American Treaty the Open Door Policy the Boxer Rebellion the Square Deal the Panama Canal Roosevelt's role as mediator

OpenStudy (wwhitlock):

The Square Deal was TRs domestic policy. So you can take that out.

1. Open Door Policy for sure, it basically made China a shared colony with other powers from Europe. 2. Japanese-American Treaty, I believed it was to help Japan's industrialization. 3. Panama Canal, Roosevelt helped Panama achieve independence from the Colombian government during a Colombian civil war. 4. Roosevelt's role as mediator, specially in 1905 when he won the Nobel Peace Prize for mediating in the Russo-Japanese war. 5. Boxer rebellion, I'd assume this one too because during this rebellion Chinese citizens started to kill foreign people, and the US had to do something about it when US citizens started to be killed.
