reliable or unreliable: He and his wife, the old lady who had received me, looked at each other in a frightened sort of way. He mumbled out that the money had been sent in a letter, and that was all he knew. When I asked him if he knew Count Dracula, and could tell me anything of his castle, both he and his wife crossed themselves, and, saying that they knew nothing at all, simply refused to speak further. It was so near the time of starting that I had no time to ask anyone else, for it was all very mysterious and not by any means comforting What does the narrator’s point of view enable the reader to experience? A. the thoughts of many characters B. an objective view of the characters C. a very reliable view of the characters D. an intimate view of the narrator’s feelings

OpenStudy (31356):

What do you think? :D Tell us why? We would be glad to help & add extra information :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think that the character is being unreliable because of his tone and attitude

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol...true, @31356 :) Add more info from the passage @kareyla09

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use the the passage to determine the tone (narrator's attitude) of this excerpt. Then, decide if the narrator is reliable or unreliable and explain why.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is all i have

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The people are acting scared, right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it is unreliable because they are being scared and suspecious?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The tone would be suspenseful/mysterious, I would say,

OpenStudy (31356):

Indeed :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thx for the medal @31356 :)

OpenStudy (31356):

Anytime thanks for the medal too :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ur welcome. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but would it be reliable or unreliable?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are unreliable because the old lady and man did not tell this man any information about Dracula because they were too scared. They refused to speak when this man asked Dracula and his castle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you very much.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are welcome. :)
