It increased concern over slavery, which eventually led to the Civil War which ended it. In Rochester, NY a lot of bars, brothels, and jails closed down because they were no longer needed. Up until fairly recently, people didn't lock their cars or homes, particularly in suburban areas. They would leave their keys in the ignition. Violent crime was virtually non-existent. It has gone up 995% since 1963. Lots of churches were started. There was more concern for the poor than there would've been without it. A lot of good things happened. I would like to see another Great Awakening.
