Evaluate the expression: v ⋅ w. Given the vectors: r = <5, -5, -2>; v = <2, -8, -8>; w = <-2, 6, -5>

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Dot product? So we just multiply the corresponding components of each vector together, then add everything up.\[\Large\bf\sf v\cdot w=2(-2)+(-8)6+(-8)(-5)\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

So I multiplied the first thing in v with the first thing in w. Second with second... Understand what's going on? :o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

All hail dot product.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got -12

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Yay good job \c:/

Thank you!(:
