Find the slope from each each equation then write the slope of a perpendicular and parallel line Y=2x+2

OpenStudy (richyw):

The slope-intercept form of an equation looks like\[y=mx+b\]where m is the slope, and b is the y intercept.

OpenStudy (richyw):

so a parallel line would have the same slope, but a different y intercept.

OpenStudy (richyw):

i'm trying to think how to explain the slope of a perpendicular line. you basically want the negative reciprocal of the slope
