Let f(x)=-5x. Find f^-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I really don't understand this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f^-1 means the inverse of f(x). To find the inverse switch your y and x variables and solve for the new y variable. f(x)=-5x y=-5x x=-5y y=x/-5 So f^1(x)=x/-5 is the inverse function of f(x)=-5x

I understand, thank you
