Suppose the Space Shuttle is in orbit about the earth at 400 km above its surface. Use the information given in the previous question to determine the orbital speed and the orbital period of the Space Shuttle. For the speed I got: \(7.68 \times 10 ^3 m/s \) and for the period i got: \(5.54 \times 10 ^3 s \) am I right?

@Mashy @undeadknight26 can you help me please? i just want to make sure if i got the right answers :)

oh i forgot! other information: Radius of Earth: 6.37 x 10^6 m Mass of Earth: 5.98 x 10 ^24 kg G: 6.673 x 10^-11 Nm^2/ kg^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea your Speed is right.. ! :).. and so is your period :)
