OpenStudy (lrki):

Please help A ball is thrown into the air with an upward velocity of 32 feet per second. Its height, h in feet after t seconds is given by the function h(t)= -16t^2+32t+ 6. How long does it take it take the ball to reach its maximum height? What is the ball maximum height?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

have you covered parabolas yet?

OpenStudy (lrki):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The highest point that the ball reaches is also the vertex of the parabola. You can find the x-value by using x=-b/2a and plug that value back into the equation to get the y-value.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmm you may want cover that first

OpenStudy (lrki):

So would it be A. Reaches a maximum height of 22 feet after 1.00 second.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's right.
