The most important thing that you need to do here is isolate the variable that you are trying to solve for. In this case, it's y, so you need to get that alone. That means that you need to move the 6x onto the other side. \[-7y=-6x+16\]All that's remaining with the y is the -7. To get rid of it you need to divide both sides by -7. So the answer is \[y=\frac{ -6x+16 }{ -7 }\]
