Okay, so first let's pretend that the number is x. For the first part, you have seven times a number, and that is 7x, which you have to subtract from the next part. The product of -2 and three times the number: three times the number would be 3x. So the product of -2 and 3x is -6x. The last part is subtracting 7x from -6x, which is -6x-7x, so you have -13x.
