¿Qué ____________________ el señor Martínez? (buscar) a. busca c. busco b. buscas d. buscamos

OpenStudy (savannah_noelle):

busco. Whenever you see the pronoun "el" it mans the verb is masculine.

It's a) busca. Althought Savannah's rule is safe to follow, in this case, the answer is a). If it was written like this, with an accent, " Que buscó el Señor Martínez?" ....... Then it would sound like if you were asking "What was Mr. Martínez looking for?" Since there are no options for "buscó", you would choose "busca". This would ask " What is Mr.Martínez looking for?" I know that the spelling looks the same, but using "busco" without the accent would sound like if you were saying: " What am I looking for the Señor Martínez?" and it would sound a bit wierd. Hope this helps :)
