How do i rewrite this equation y=4^x if there is a reflection about the y axis a dilationof 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

flip about the \(y\) axis by replacing \(x\) by \(-x\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

making x a -x isn't that just the reflection but what about the dilation of 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=4^-x but how do I show the dilation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no idea what "dilation" means in this context my guess is stick a \(\frac{1}{2}\) out front

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but maybe it is a 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it is 1/2
