What ratio would you use to determine how many seconds are in a minute? (a) 60min/1sec (b) 60sec/1hr (c) 60sec/1min (d) 60min/1hr
There is 60 seconds in a minute So,which ratio gives you 60 ? figure it out !
Yeah, I know there are 60 seconds in a minute
But I don't get these ratios
How would any of them solve for 60seconds in a minute?
Let's take the first choice as an example and follow the steps .. (a) 60min/1sec convert min to sec ,you approved that we have 60 sec. in a min so it will be (a) 60min/1sec (a) 60*60sec/1sec=3600 which is obviously far from 60 now make what i did in the next choices
I was thinking that maybe the answer was c....
Can you show your work ?
It's just a guess, I don't have work
I don't even understand why you're multiplying the 60, why would you do that?
I did that because you need to deal with a consistent unit ,you should make them one unit by converting one of them to the other . Got it ?
ok, yes
b would be 60/3600
sot that's not right
c would be 60/60
d would also be 60/60
except d is in minutes
so...I still think that c is correct
do you agree?
Exactly, (c) 60sec/1min is the correct answer . because it shows the value of it
ok,, thnx :D
