anyone help me with this I think its B but im not quite sure 1. what is the component form of the vector shown? A. (6,8) B. ( 8,6) C. (10,4) D. (4,10)

OpenStudy (.whitedragon.):

is there a pic

OpenStudy (.whitedragon.):

i think its B but i recommend @iPwnBunnies

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

It's sorta like finding slope. We need to know the x-component and y-component of the vector.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

For this case, a vector is in form (X,Y) Which will be (difference in x, difference in y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im still confused like do you do the whole like slope intercept form or what :P

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

No, we're just finding the x and y components of the vector made by 2 points.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

And a vector is written as (X,Y), which will be the distance in the x-direction and the distance in the y-direction.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Is the vector going from (4,2) to (12,8) or the other way around?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

...Idk which direction is it, but if it's going from (4,2) to (12,8).. The vector will be <12-4, 8-2> v = <8,6>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay so it would end up being (8,6) those are the coordinates correct ?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

...Good luck.
