The way you might answer this question depends on your level of understanding of chemistry. The two samples of Compound X might be the same, but this is not necessarily so. For example, if the two chemists both had samples of vitamin C, the samples could have identical chemical formulas, but the chemical structures of the two samples might be different. So the answer may be true or false. You need to have more information about how the compounds were prepared in some cases. Oh, this is such a difficult question, especially if you are taking an introductory chemistry class!
