OpenStudy (veeveeniko):

I'm supposed to draw dot structures for certain atoms but I can't figure out what this means. Li^+1 I know it's Lithium but I don't understand the +1 part. HELP

OpenStudy (hitaro9):

So that +1 essentially tells you the charge. You know that lithium normally has how many valence electrons?

OpenStudy (veeveeniko):

It's 3 I believe?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

It has 1 valence electron (its in group I of the periodic table).
