I want to improve my critical reading skills. Any tips or suggestions?
I suggest you intently pay attention to what you are reading, constantly ask yourself questions about what you are reading. It helps you to keep yourself sharp on what you are reading. If it is a fiction book or passage, it helps to identify with the main character, or find something in common with them. Do you read often? Reading often helps people develop better reading comprehension and critical reading skills. It is also a good thing if you like reading. Those who resent reading tend to not do so well on critical reading and reading comprehension. How do I know? I read all the time, I'm a tutor, and I have a job as a teacher's assistant at the school I go to. hope this helps :D
Thanks !
:D
you're welcome!
Yeah, I don't like reading though :(
that's ok, a lot of people don't. do you just not like reading as a whole, or do you not like reading certain topics or genres?
Like to edit a paper type of critical reading?
@SolomonZelman
No, I was just asking about critical reading like on the SAT.
The best way to improve your skills is to read...but the way I got my great reading skills is by reading books that I loved and enjoyed. You soak up every word and get better at reading along with improving your vocabulary :)
