An ecological hot spot is an area where A. habitats and species show a high amount of biodiversity. B. hunting is encouraged. C. many habitats and species are at high risk of extinction. D. species diversity is too high.
I thinks its A
A "Biodiversity hot spot" is a term coined by Norman Myers in some articles about the environment. For a biogeographic region to be considered a biodiversity hot spot it must follow certain criteria. You can learn more about them in the Wikipedia page ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biodiversit... but in summary, it's an area with a lot of biodiversity that is being severely threatened by humans. Obviously, hunting is not permitted here. Habitats and species might or may not be healthy, and the diversity is indeed high, but not "too high", so "C" is the most correct answer.
