Find the midpoint between two points on a coordinate plane whose coordinates are (7, -8) and (-3, -4).
Average the x coordinates, and average the y coordinates. Those are coordinates of the midpoint.
your midpoint is(2,-12)
heres the formula
@PrincessAlexis re-calculate for y..! and one more thing ... we are not allowed to tell the answer directly..!
sorry cupcake im new ^_^
y is 4
:D... no problem..:D BTW... re-calculate for the value of y... in the answer that you've givven...:D
can you guys explain how u got the answer
girly first of all look at the formula that Princess has attached
the points that you have are (7, -8) and (-3, -4). now let X1 be 7 and X2 be -3 Y1 be -8 Y2 be -4 so add now Add X1 + X2 then divide that with 2 to get the value of the x co-ordinate of the mid-point and then add Y1+Y2 then divide that with 2 and you would get value of y co-ordinate of the mid- point and then just plug in those values in the x and y here in ( x,y) for the co-ordinates of the mid point..:D
@girl8r7y did u get it ?
no
so wait thats the answer?
@Shizen
no..! I told you about X1 , X2 and Y1 ,Y2 in the 2nd last comment now add those x1+x2 and divide that result by 2 to get the x - coordinate of mid-point and same with y1 +y2 divided by 2 to get the y-co-ordinate of the mid-point..!
As I originally said: average the x coordinates, average the y coordinates, that's your midpoint...
yeah..! @whpalmer4 ...
