determine whether the pair of line is parallel, perpendicular ,or neither x-6y=-8 y=3x-6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would help you with pleasure but i dont know sorry ;(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first find m1 and m2 if \[m _{1} = m _{2}\] then lines are parallel if \[m _{1} \times m _{2} = -1\] then lines are perpendicular else none of it.

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

singh, you are truly crazy for giving out answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i have explained it too ..

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

you misunderstand the essence of learning

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you know what i misunderstand! great.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@nincompoop : what do you want to say.. be direct.

OpenStudy (kainui):

Try getting them both to look the same, so if you use algebra to rearrange them into slope-intercept form it might be easier to compare them! What is slope intercept form? It's just where you have y on one side and the rest on the other like this: y=mx+b Do that to both and then I'll help you compare them.
