OpenStudy (anonymous):

The equation for the area of a circle is \[\pi r^2\]Can you figure this out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well not really lol its kind of hard for me @mossyfish

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I get confused between two steps that's why

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's okay! You multiply pi by the radius squared. So, let's find out what the radius is. 4, right? What is 4 squared??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4x4? I think if not I am getting it confused with some other math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mossyfish

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup! 4*4 is 4^2. Exponents (^number) means that you multiply the number (in this case 4) by itself however many times the exponent is. So, 4*4=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mossyfish

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup! So now multiply that by pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

50.26 @mossyfish

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 50.24... But I'll assume that was a typo or misread or something, good job!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks! @mossyfish

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and you where right it was 50.24 because 50.26 was not a choice @mossyfish

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome! Great job solving :)
