I believe your answer is correct. A remark, if answers are not given though. You can divide the volume by area of the base to find height in this case. Volume = Area_base * height Volume / Area_base = height Simplifying the quotient requires long division or factoring and some trickier synthetic division. So it seems your way is possibly faster. (But faster yet, you could use remainder thm to substitute x=3 and check that P(3) = 0 as this implies that x-3 divides P(x)).
