OpenStudy (anonymous):

write the trig expression in terms of sine and cosine, and then simplify: Cos(x)tan(x)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(\Huge\color{black}{ \sf Cos(x)Tan(x) }\) we know that \(\LARGE\color{red}{ \sf Tan(x) = }\) \(\Huge\color{red}{ \sf \frac{Sin(x)}{Cos(x)} }\) so, \(\LARGE \color{black}{ \sf Cos(x)Tan(x) =}\) \(\LARGE\color{black}{ \sf Cos(x)\frac{Sin(x)}{Cos(x)} }\) cancel out Cos(x) and you get Sin(x)
