One strand of the DNA serves as a template to assemble nucleotides together into a complementary mRNA strand. What does this exactly mean?

|dw:1396439418327:dw| Then floating nucleotides attach to one of these sides of the DNA, DNA acts as like a blueprint A Attaches to U, G attaches to C. Instead of the regular A to T and G to C after it is done, the mRNA detaches and exits the nucleus and heads on over to the golgi apparatus to produce proteins to do specific functions function the DNA told it to do, not sure if this makes any sense, i don't really teach people haha.
