Solve the Proportion. x/17=9/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply both sides with 17 * 2 :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cross multiplying 2x = 17x9, divide through by 2 to get x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Shizen don't just post answers when someone else is providing a possible solution!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

when did i post an answer @d3Xter ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dividing both sides with 17*2 is wrong!

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Consider re-writing the given equation of proportions as\[\frac{ x }{ 17 }=\frac{ 9 }{ 2 }\]... then it'd be easier for you (@youngstar10) to follow d3Xter's advice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer will come out to be x=76.5 because I cross multiply and then divide x by 17(9) right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@d3Xter i said multiply and thats not wrong!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep thats correct @youngstar10 :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, @youngstar10 ! :)
