Why have improvements in microscopes over time resulted in revisions in the cell theory?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi! welcome to Openstudy! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Microscopes started out as a piece of lens in a tube over an object to magnify it. Over time, Light Microscopes were invented... then Scanning Electron microscopes...

OpenStudy (beccaboo333):

Adding to that, with the newer inventions we are now able to see more clearly and see more. Therefore we've learned more and added more in. So with that we are now changing the cell theory based on new observations we've made.

yes, newer versions in microscopes allowed the scientists to actually SEE the cells, and they were able to study and observe them more freely. hope this helps :D
