what are the reasons bombs should have been used on japan

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Well the A-bombs WERE used on Japan

OpenStudy (taylor<3srin):

I don't think they should have been used at all personally. It was borderline genocide.

What were the reasons the bomb should have been used on Japan? this is the question im having trouble answering ):

OpenStudy (taylor<3srin):

Well it really depends who your asking, since you are asking me I would say there is no reason. But, seeing as you need this answered in a particular way, some would say it ended the war and saved American lives while sacrificing the lives of thousands of Japanese civilians.

OpenStudy (xmoses1):

Which is terrible in retrospect :\

The reasons were, Harry S. Truman wanted the War to end now. His military leaders told him the War would possibly go on to 1947, and they would lose a lot more soldiers. Harry Truman agreed, and so the Manhattan Project was in plan. They dropped two nukes on Japan. One on Nagasaki, and the other was Hiroshima. And it was also dropped, so we can impress the russians. And four years later the russians detonated there first nuke in 1949.
