PLEASE HELP ME! I'LL GIVE MEDAL & FAN YOU! (:

OpenStudy (kmullis6):

1) The electromagnetic spectrum ---- the visible spectrum: light and color. 2) The electromagnetic spectrum ---- the invisible spectrum: frequency, wavelength, energy, and applications. Basically, in short terms, what do I need to know about these? I have to talk to my teacher in an hour and she will probably ask me this. Thanks! (:

OpenStudy (gebooors):

1) it is useful to know colours and wavelengths, Violet about 400 nm, in another end red light, about 700 nm. You can check and study about it yourself. 2) this is a wide area, gammarays emerging from transitions of nuclei, very penetrating radiation, X-rays with low wavelength, use in medicine UV-light, shorter wavelength compared to visible light. Makes skin to turn brown. Infrared radiation, longer wavelength than visible light, Microwaves, vibrations of molecules, e.g. Water molecule, Longer wavelengths in radio, tv, cell phones... There's much to find out, here some hints.
