OpenStudy (barrelracer011):

The box plots show the average daily temperatures in July and August for a U.S. city.

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Where is the pic?

OpenStudy (barrelracer011):

OpenStudy (barrelracer011):

What can you tell about the means for these two months? The August high is above the July median. This makes it hard to know about the means. Both months have the same low temperature. This makes it hard to know about the means. It is unlikely, but possible that the July mean could be higher. There is no way to tell what the means are.

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

The answer is A, August median: 90, July median: 92.5, August high: 100 :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

hey question is asking us about means right ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

there is no way to tell whether the first mean will be greater or second will be greater

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Is my answer wrong @ganeshie8 ?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

looking at it again, A also looks right !

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

but im still a bit inclined more toward last option...

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):
