Nico uses wire to connect a battery, a lightbulb, and a switch, but the bulb does not light up. Which might explain this problem? A. The battery has too much power. B. The switch is open. C. The circuit is closed. D. The wires are bent. I think C?

OpenStudy (linda3):

hmm... I'm not good with Physics but i think C is right. @nincompoop

mathslover (mathslover):

If circuit is Open, then it will not light up.

mathslover (mathslover):

I think, even, I am sure "Switch is open"

OpenStudy (linda3):

oh lol hehe see @mathslover he's smart! :)

mathslover (mathslover):

Well just to explain what it all means : Circuit closed : It actually means the wires are connected properly and the circuit is complete. Switch is Open : Switch is Open means that you have not yet started the electricity pass through or the electricity is not flowing through the wires yet. It can also be referred as Circuit is Open You can say Switch Open as Switch is Off and Switch closed as Switch On

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I agree with mathslover the switch is open, I remember doing this a couple years back..

mathslover (mathslover):

@lovehearts119 - Did it help? Let me know if you are having any problem in understanding it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes that helped a lot. Thanks!

mathslover (mathslover):

This will better explain the situation when the switch is open (indirectly the circuit is Open) http://www.rkm.com.au/ANIMATIONS/animation-graphics/circuit-diagram.jpg
