The image of a point after a reflection over the line y = –x is (7, –1). Find the coordinates of the preimage. A. (–7, –1) B. (–7, 1) C. (–1, 7) D. (1, –7)

OpenStudy (smored):

If the reflection of (7,-1) was on the line y=x, then the coordinates would be switched (-1,7). But since this is reflected over y=-x, it would be the negative of y=x, so (1,-7).

OpenStudy (smored):

so the answer is (1,-7)

OpenStudy (princezz):

D because when u reflect the coordinates flip and d is the only one with the correct coordinates and symbols ^_^

Awesom thanks @smored @Princezz
