please tell me what is the answer for cot ( π/4 -x)
Please tell me what it is that this questions asks you to do. Hint: you need to find the "difference formula for the cotangent." You could look that up in your textbook or online.
is this the correct answer 1- cotx /cotx+1 ?
Please see: http://home.windstream.net/okrebs/page102.html and note that if you first find tan ( π/4 -x), then cot ( π/4 -x) would be the reciprocal. Ask questions if you need help towards figuring this out.
could you please just tell me the answer ?
sorry, but no. I'd like very much for you to understand how to do this problem. Did you realize that the OpenStudy Code of Conduct forbids asking for direct answers and also forbids others (such as me) from giving them out. If you're willing to do some work towards finding the answer you want, just say so. I'd be delighted to help.
i am so sorry if i did something that upset you. i didnt know that i shouldnt ask for the direct answer. its just that i have a sheet in which i know the answer and we have proved it in class but now i have doubts and i dont know whether its right or wrong thats why i asked you whether i have the right answer of not thank you soo much for your time again im sorry
I wasn't and am not the least bit upset. I offered before, and I offer again, to walk you through the problem solution if you want. Look at the formula for tan ( a - b ) in the excerpt (below) from the reference I gave you earlier:
Again i ask you to evaluate tan (a - b ) for your particular math problem. Just ask if you're not sure what to do, and I'll gladly get back to you with support.
