What is the value of x so that the ordered pair (x, 1) is a solution to the equation 3x - y = 17 ? A) 5 1/3 B) 6 C) 14 D) 20 which one please i really need this

OpenStudy (gudden):

well the usual way of expressing a location of the point is x.y and here the pair is given to be x,1 hence y = 1 so plug in y = 1 in the equation given and solve to get the answer :D

OpenStudy (gudden):

3x - y = 17 y = 1 now 3x - 1 = 17 => 3x = 18 => x = 6 :D
