Hmm it's America's past time because it has been around for centuries. Also it was one of the first sports in history to overcome discrimination for example Jackie Robinson was the first ever african-american to ever play baseball in the major league. It was around longer and has been more popular then football and other sports in America dating back to the late 1940s and 1960s
