work done by pulling a bucket out of well is a- negative b- positive c- zero d- constant

@ganeshie8 @Mashy @ikram002p

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

I would think positive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please explain it little :/

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

well you pulling it up so you are adding to the force and adding is positive and when you were to like drop it that would take some of the force you are using away so then that would be negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thank ya so much ^_^

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

NP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but this show Typically, we have to push down the rope and direct our force downwards hence the bucket lifts up. Since the force and direction of displacement is anti-parallel to each other, angle between them is 180. F.d = FdcosQ F.d = - Fd. Answer: NEGATIVE! is that correct ???

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

Anything else

OpenStudy (warriorz13):

Yes I would guess since it says so but IDK

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aaronq any idea ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):
