The only thing I can think of was both of them where in rule during a great war for there people. They wanted a connected government, and justice for all. They where also both killed for what they believed in, and stood up for.

Both were leaders of a power county, at the time of rule, Both were assassinated. Both were involved in a civil war pretty close to the end of their rule, and the people that killed both of them were Jews.
