PLEASE HELP WITH THIS QUESTION!!!!! /: Danny made a mistake in the following problem. The mistake was made in Line ___. Only input the number of the first incorrect line. Line 1 --- 21 + 35 ÷ 7 + 6(2) Line 2 --- 21 + 5 + 6(2) Line 3 --- 21 + 11(2) Line 4 --- 21 + 22 Line 5 --- 43
The order of operations is: PEDMAS P - Parenthesis (that is, do the arithmetic within the parenthesis first) E - Exponent D & M - Division and Multiplication (both operations same priority) A & S - Addition and Subtraction (both operations same priority) In one of the lined an addition operation was performed BEFORE multiplication and that is where the first error occurs.
So line 2? @ranga
Line 2 is correct. It is from Line 1 where the division operation was performed correctly which results in line 2.
I am not saying line 2 is the correct answer. I am saying line 2 has no error.
Going from line 2 to line 3, the operation that should be performed is the multiplication: 6(2) = 12. But instead, the error in line 3, is adding 5 + 6 in line 2 instead of multiplying 6 and 2 first.
Oh ok, thank you so much! I get it now. I'm terrible at math. ): @ranga
