This is a practical way to solve inequality with absolute expression: |x + 9| < 2 a) -(x + 9) < 2 b) (x + 9) < 2 -x - 9 < 2 x < 2 - 9 x > -11 x < -7 Answer: -11 < x < -7

|x + 9| < 2 LESS THAN is a wonderful thing! This expression is EXACTLY the same thing. -2 < x + 9 < 2
