German Is this sentence correct? "Dann hatte ich einen großen Hunger, deshalb habe ich meinem Abendessen gekocht." I am unsure about the 'meinem.' Would 'Abendessen' be dative because I cooked it for myself, or would it be accusative?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To rewrite in english, 'therefore i cooked my dinner [for myself]' Wait, I think I answered it for myself. The 'for myself' would be the indirect object, and the Abendessen would be the d.o. So the sentence should read, "...,deshalb habe ich mein Abendessen gekocht." and to show the accusative it would be ..., deshalb habe ich meinen Wagen repariert.

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

You can even write: deshalb habe ich mir mein Abendessen gekocht. You are right, kochen is transitive.
