OpenStudy (jkbo):

please help What is a polynomial with a single root at x = -6 and a double root at x = -3?

OpenStudy (gebooors):

If one root is x= -6, you get a polynomial (x+6) Then the double root gives you (x+3)

OpenStudy (jkbo):

@Gebooors so (x+6)(x+3) ?

OpenStudy (gebooors):

Because of double root, try (x-3)^2

OpenStudy (gebooors):

I meant (x+6)(x+3)^2

OpenStudy (jkbo):

x3+12x2+45x+54 @Gebooors I got this

OpenStudy (gebooors):

Good work!

OpenStudy (jkbo):

thats the answer? @Gebooors
