OpenStudy (help_needed_cudi):

i know B. its 14 boxes of candy

OpenStudy (help_needed_cudi):

26. Consider the following: (0, -1), (3, 7), (3, 9), (4, 8), and (5, 2). State the domain and range. Is this a relation or function? Why or why not? (4 points)

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Domain = set of all the first coordinates. So list them, in a set. Range - set of all the 2nd coordinates. Just list them. Is it a function - the way I teach this..... a relation is a function IF it is true that, "If you know x, you know y". E.g., there are no pairs in the relation where the same x coordinate maps to 2 different y's. So check all the pairs. Is there a pair that has the same value of x, but with different values of y? If so, not a function. If not so, then it is a function.

OpenStudy (help_needed_cudi):

thank you

OpenStudy (help_needed_cudi):

just to make sure im doing this right the first sets r 0,3,4,5

OpenStudy (help_needed_cudi):

n the seconds r -1,7,9,8,2

OpenStudy (debbieg):

right And do you think it's a function?

OpenStudy (help_needed_cudi):

im about to make a graph to find out thanks again!

OpenStudy (help_needed_cudi):

no its not a function

OpenStudy (help_needed_cudi):

and could you help with the first question?
