Eye Contact: A short film by Grey Ghost - What is the physical setting of the film? The film seems to be set at a beach near a lighthouse - What is the mood or emotional setting? The mood of the film is eerie and mysterious - How would you describe the runner's state of mind? At first the runner seems peaceful but as she sees the dark figure she seems hesitant and a bit frightened, near the end of the film the runner is terrified - What techniques does the director use to create the mood and illustrate the runner's feeling? The director uses music that gives off an eerie and frightening feeling and uses certain camerea angles so that you cannot see what is coming next and makes you feel like you are the one being chased - How does the runner's state of mind change in Part 2? !!!!!!!!!THE FILM I WATCHED WAS ALL IN ONE VIDEO SO I HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO ANSWER THIS!!!!!!! - What elements of the setting (the wooded path, the lighthouse, the dirt road) create the most anxiety? For me, the dirt road created the most anxiety because the way the director used certain effects and angles made the dirt road seems never ending - Besides the music, what else can be heard? How does this choice in the film build suspense? The only other sound that can be heard are trivial ones; the runner's frantic foot steps and heavy breathing all give the feeling of a hunter and the hunted, which builds a massive amount of suspense because you know the prey is going to be captured but not in what way. - What techniques does the director use to help the viewer feel what the runner is feeling? The director uses techniques like unique camera angles such as making the camera look where the runner would be looking at the time so that you feel the intensity of the chase. The director also used a zooming effect that made certain parts seem dragged out and agonizing. - There are a number of camera techniques used by the director. What visual techniques create the feeling of panic? As mentioned before the director used a variety of zoom techniques that made you feel just how excruciating the situation was for the runner and made you panic along side her - How does the music match what the runner is feeling? The music is very mysterious and eerie and at certain points it peeks in volume and in speed which gives you a surprise and a feeling of terror which is what the runner is feeling at the time. - Did you anticipate the film ending as it did? What do you think happens to the runner after she drops the phone? I did anticipate that the runner would get killed in the film but I did not anticipate that the runner would also turn into one of the "shadow figures". When the runner drops the phone I suspect that the shadow murders her and takes her soul with it. (I DID NOT ANSWER ONE OF THESE QUESTIONS! MAKE SURE TO LOOK AT THEM AND ANSWER IT FOR YOURSELF BECAUSE I WAS NOT ABLE TO! THESE ARE MY OPINIONS AND SHOULD SERVE AS AN EXAMPLE AS TO WHAT TO WRITE!)
